Dream overview
About Aranya Theater Festival 阿那亚戏剧节
Aranya Theater Festival eliminates the boundaries of art with the most diverse, contemporary, open, inclusive and forms, where hundreds of artists from drama, literature, music, dance, architecture and other fields co-create and coexist, creating a unique ocean of art. Here, theatre is no longer a symbol of cultural consumption, but a platform and a way of connection, a core force for building contemporary spiritual life.
About the Migratory Birds 300 候鸟300
The Migratory Birds 300 候鸟300 is a special segment of the Aranya Theater Festival.
The "Migratory Birds 300" initiative pioneers the establishment of an innovative exhibition platform and exchange network, metaphorically likened to migratory birds, gathering 300 creators from diverse backgrounds to cohabitate and collaborate for 300 hours. Through this endeavor, fresh vitality is injected into live art scenes with novel creations, exploring the boundaries between art and daily life.
Similar to a social experiment, "Migratory Birds 300" eschews standards and competition, focusing instead on mutual inspiration, collective rule-making, communal living, and shared creativity. It constructs an experience of "life - creativity - practice - expression," unlocking new artistic possibilities from various dimensions. Through practice, it crystallizes a sense of shared artistic destiny, forming a community.
About 候鸟梦游 | Water-based UK-China Artist Exchange Programme
Migratory Birds 300 X Canal Dream X Slash Arts
The international artist exchange program is jointly initiated by the Canal Dream Art Festival and one of China's most influential seaside theater festivals, the Aranya Theater Festival Migratory Birds 300.
The Chinese artists will land on boats on the Regent's Canal in London and the British artists will travel to the Aranya seaside in Qinhuangdao. Chinese and British artists will create and perform separately at both art festivals, as well as participate in a two-week art residency in local waterfront communities.
Our vision is to harness the transformative power of waterways to promote international art and cultural exchange. By bringing together artists, creatives, and cultural leaders from different countries and cultures, we aim to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of our shared humanity. Through our work, we seek to challenge perceptions of borders and boundaries, and promote a sense of shared identity and responsibility for the planet. Our projects prioritize sustainable practices and aim to leave a positive impact on the communities we work with.
We share culture's glow,
Through the water's flow.
